So finally I get a chance to contribute to this blog (come to think I already did contribute by being part of the discussion on Saturday that started the blog!).
Am typing this on notepad on a turbulent plane ride right now - flying back to Houston from North Carolina wrapping up my first project. Last few days were really busy but now I looking forward to some time off from deadlines, working in the Houston office.

Kartiks entry got me thinking about what this past year meant to me. Actually I think 2004 was a very crucial year for me in more ways than one. It started with all sorts of uncertainties and has ended giving me a definite direction in life. I graduated, got my first real job, had my parents and sister over, moved to a new city leaving all my old friends behind and making some new ones. There have been gains and losses this year but overall I am grateful for all the positive things that have happened.

This year has just flown by me. Someone from my apartment office called today to inform me that my lease was up. That reminded me that its almost 6 months since I moved to Houston...wow. It seems like yesterday when I was getting ready to move. Now that I think of it leaving Boulder was the most important change for me this year. It marked the end of an era for me. These thoughts made me ponder over my most memorable moments in Boulder. Heres a few that come to mind right now...

- Those post midnight walks to Safeway from Maplewood - at times in big groups, singing, composing our own songs (Urvish you know what I am talking about!) -always having fun.
- Crank calls made in the first semester to all the desis that werent staying in Maplewood apartments 32, 33 or 34. And cooking dinner for 15 people and calling over 30.
- Going out and getting drunk at Catacombs with Arjun and Ashish S. every Fridaywith bartender Lauren (she was hot), hitting on random women and getting some phone numbers that we would never call. I have no clue where we got all the money from in those days.
- Going to rehearsals every evening for the International festival dance in Feb. 2003. It was so much fun. Infact organising all the ISA events was since it was working with a bunch of close friends. Made friends for life thanks to ISA.
- Watching the high intesity India-Pakistan world cup game with about 30 people crammed in a room with flags, chants and passions riding high.
- The cute Mexican girl I had a crush on while bussing tables at UMC. Never could gather the courage to ask her out, but did manage to get free sushi and a peck on the cheek.
- The musical play at the AID festival in 2003. It is a nice sense of achievement to see people laughing since most of the story idea and jokes were mine (with a lot of creative differences with Matthew and Neha though!)
- Those endless afternoons in the summer of 2004 - going out for lunch, sitting and smoking 'hukka' and talking till we ran out of things to talk about.

Geez I think I can go on and on...and I wasnt even sure on what to write for my first entry. Nostalgia gets me goinnn...sorry if this post got too personal.
But heres (a toast) to good times in Boulder!
